Tim Hortons Inc. (Dublin, Ohio), one of North America's largest quick service restaurant chains, will open three co-branding test units with Cold Stone Creamery (Scottsdale, Ariz.) in New York in August.
The co-branded locations will open at three Cold Stone Creamery Manhattan locations, including its Times Square flagship, and will offer Hortons’ coffee, baked goods, soups and sandwiches.
“Culturally and commercially, New York is a market we are eager to pursue," says David Clanachan, chief operations officer for U.S. and international, Tim Hortons. "The ongoing co-branding program with Cold Stone Creamery is a good way to test the market."
Currently, more than 40 restaurants have been fully rebranded to the combined Cold Stone Creamery and Tim Hortons concept. Last month, the companies announced they were expanding to Canada with six test locations.
Tim Hortons operates 3457 restaurants, including 2930 in Canada and 527 in the U.S. Cold Stone Creamery is a subsidiary of Kahala Corp, a portfolio of 12 quick service restaurant brands, with more than 1450 locations in 12 countries.
