Stratham, N.H.-based Timberland will open the doors to its newest retail storefront, on Chicago's Michigan Avenue, this Friday.
The new 3500-square-foot space is designed to reflect the company's commitment to sustainability through the use of recycled materials and other environmentally-responsible building practices, including: reclaimed wood and industrial machinery, used for table bases; recycled stoneware floor tiles; FSC-certified woods; reduced-wattage LED lighting; Energy Star-eligible equipment and appliances; low VOC paints; and water-conserving plumbing fixtures.
"Timberland was welcomed into the Greater Chicago area with great enthusiasm when we opened the doors to our Skokie, Ill., storefront last year, and we jumped at the opportunity to open up another shop on Michigan Ave., one of the world's greatest shopping hubs," says Brendan Sullivan, vp, retail and e-commerce, Timberland.
