Mickey Rosmarin, founder of Tootsies, passed away June 17. He was 63 years old.

Rosmarin spent four decades in the retail industry, according to Women’s Wear Daily. In 1975, he opened the first Tootsies concept store in Houston.

In 2011, he moved Tootsies to a 35,000-square-foot space in Houston’s upscale West Avenue development. The store offers merchandise from European and American designers as well as contemporary lines, shoes and accessories. It also serves as a space for designer shows, charity functions and private events.
