Launched by Hudson Group and Travel + Leisure magazine
Travel magazine Travel + Leisure and retailer Hudson Group, known for its national newsstand brand Hudson News, have launched a new travel retail concept called Travel + Leisure at the Vancover International Airport.
The travel-themed retail store sells products aimed at enhancing the travel experience, such as luggage and travel accessories, printed materials, including local maps and travel guides, and current editions of Travel + Leisure magazine and its sister publication, Food & Wine.
Additional locations are expected to arrive soon in Halifax and JFK Intl. Airports. In addition, new Hudson retail Galleries in Sanford Orlando and San Francisco International Airports will house Travel + Leisure stores-within-stores.
"The Travel + Leisure concept grew out of Hudson's relationship with the magazine publishing industry through our newsstand Hudson News," says Hope Remoundos, executive vp, marketing, for Hudson Group. "Hudson has successfully partnered with TV networks in the past, in our CNN Newsstand and CMT Loot stores. But this marks our first partnership with a magazine."
Travel + Leisure and is published by American Express Publishing Corp. (New York). Hudson Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of international duty-free travel retailer Dufry AG (Basel, Switzerland), operates more than 500 newsstands, bookstores, cafes and specialty retail shops in 70 airports and transportation terminals in the U.S. and Canada.
