The Paris-based publisher University Press of France, also known as Les Puf, opened a micro retail space in Paris, reports The New York Times, where books are printed on request.

Customers use tablets to browse titles in the store’s digital library and their selections are printed in under five minutes on-site.

The original Librairie des Puf, which opened in 1921, was a large, multi-story space in the corner of Place de la Sorbonne. It was forced to close when rent became too high and sales too low.

This version of Librairie des Puf measures less than 900 square feet.
