The millennial generation is top of mind for all retailers these days, poised to overtake the baby boomers as the U.S.’s largest population group within just a few years. For those looking to take a deep dive into this demographic – and what these young shoppers mean to retailers rolling out new stores or evolving existing brands – VMSD introduces the IRDC Roadshow: Millennial Edition.

On June 7, at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza, VMSD will take a page from its International Retail Design Conference format with a one-day crash course in designing retail for the millennial generation. (IRDC itself, now in its 12th year and featuring a bigger, broader slate of sessions and networking events, will take place September 5-7 in Chicago.)

The IRDC Roadshow will kick off with a keynote from Marian Salzman, who’s been touted as one of the world’s top five trendspotting experts, laying the groundwork for the day with “Millennial Consumers: Who They Are and How They Shop.” This insightful overview will share key up-to-the-minute statistics and data on the millennial generation, its buying power and the ways these consumers choose to spend their money. The rest of the day includes sessions focusing on more targeted research on this segment of the market, case study presentations from retailers who are getting it right, and a provocative Q+A with a panel of retail design students and recent grads who will speak firsthand on the millennial experience and point of view.

Cost to attend the full-day event is $299. For more information and to register, click here.
