Walmart Stores Inc. (Bentonville, Ark.) reported that sales of groceries accounted for 51 percent of its $258.2 billion sales in the U.S. last year. That’s up from 49 percent in 2008, reports The Wall Street Journal.
The world’s largest retailer has been increasing its grocery offering at existing locations and converting stores into supercenters that offer everything from clothing and electronics to beauty and grocery.
