Scheduled to be open until the end of the year
Retail giant Walmart Inc. (Bentonville, Ark.) has opened two pop-up stores in California malls designed specifically to promote its website to holiday shoppers. The test stores carry the Walmart.com brand and a limited range of toys and electronics. Computers on display tables allow shoppers to order from the retailer’s website.
Walmart says its two temporary mall stores are “just another way to give our customers that continuous experience, bringing together our stores and our brand through our ecommerce footprint,” reports The Financial Times.
The locations, which measure 1000 to 3000 square feet, are located in Los Angeles and San Diego.
