Walmart (Bentonville, Ark.) announced that “greeters” will once again be positioned at store entrances to help deter theft and greet customers upon entering or exiting the store. The plans also increase asset-protection staff in stores who will be checking customer receipts at the doors.

Business Insider reports that the company loses around 1 percent of its revenue in U.S. stores to theft and shrink, which is the equivalent of around $3 billion annually.

Walmart removed greeters from its entrances in 2012 to help with other processes on the sales floor. Their return is also intended to improve customer service.
