Three locations debut in California in November
William Rast is transitioning from retail brand to bricks-and-mortar retailer with the debut of its first freestanding stores. The “denim culture” brand will unveil its take on retail design with the November premiere of its first two full-priced stores, one in its home city’s Westfield Century City Shopping Mall and the other in Westefield Valley Fair Shopping Center, San Jose, Calif., and an off-price store in Desert Hills Premium Outlets, Cabazon, Calif.
Designed in collaboration with architectural firm Johnston Marklee (Los Angeles), the stores’ décor will play off the brand’s blend of the iconography of American denim heritage and biker culture with contemporary elements. Stores will carry a full range of men’s and women’s apparel and accessories in all categories available in upscale department and specialty stores. The retail locations also will offer new, exclusive styles including signature William Rast denim, silk tops, leather jackets and accessories.
Founded by Trace Ayala and Justin Timberlake and operated through subsidiaries of People’s Liberation, Inc., William Rast hopes to grow the chain to 40 to 50 stores within the next several years.
