“Demand for our wireless services is growing steadily,” said Charles Hand, president of Verizon's New York metro region. “Adding new Communications Stores to our existing chain of company-owned retail locations will make shopping for our wireless products and services easier and more convenient for customers.”

The announcement comes on the heels of the wireless communications company opening two new stores in Nevada, one in Las Vegas and one in Henderson. Verizon now owns and operates 22 retail storesand kiosks throughout the Las Vegas area. “Since April 2000, we have invested more than $80 million in our Clark County [Nev.] wireless network,” said Craig Scott, director of retail sales for Verizon Wireless, “more than doubling our digital footprint and enhancing call quality and digital voice reception for local customers.”
