Target (Minneapolis) has announced a plan to remodel 200 stores and open 30 new locations in 2022.

The retailer describes the remodeling efforts as “top-to-bottom renovations” that incorporate modern design elements. These include brighter lighting and elevated merchandise displays, as well as enhanced hold space and pickup areas for online fulfillment.

The 30 new stores will range in footprint, from mid-size locations in dense suburban areas to small-format stores in city centers like Charleston, S.C., and New York’s Times Square.

Additionally, Target says it will tackle hundreds of smaller projects across the chain to support the growth of its fulfillment services and expand in-store brand partnerships with Ulta Beauty, Disney, Levi’s and Apple.
