Walmart has cut the opening ribbon at its newest “next-generation” Supercenter in Jacksonville, Fla., which includes the following updated interior features:

  • A reimagined store layout that’s more open and designed to make it easier for customers to explore and discover what Walmart has to offer, including expanded home and apparel offerings.
  •  More interactive digital touchpoints that make in-store shopping easier, more efficient and more connected.
  •  An expanded merchandise assortment, including elevated fashion brands, and a more robust grocery offering, including a bakery, deli and fresh sushi bar, and goods that reflect its surrounding neighborhood, Oakleaf.

The debut of the new Jacksonville store comes on the heels of the openings last month of two nearby locales: a new Supercenter in Apollo Beach and a Neighborhood Market in Ocala. (Overall, Walmart has 390 retail units in Fla.) The new store is part of the Bentonville, Ark.-based retailer’s plan to build or convert more than 150 similar stores in the coming years.
