A.G. Ferrari

San Francisco, CA

Brand consultancy Landor Associates, San Francisco, created a new brand name and retail identity for A.G. Ferrari, a popular Bay Area market and eatery formerly known as Ultra Lucca.

The Italian specialty store opened its doors with a new brand symbol, retail environment and product packaging system based on its rich heritage as a family-owned business and its customers'passion for authentic Italian food. A new logo features engravings of store founder Annibale Ferrari and the Italian village where the store originated. Other identity elements include handwritten price labels, wooden crates overflowing with fresh produce and chalkboards listing owner Paul Ferrari's personal recommendations. Simple wood fixtures with stainless steel accents and a neutral backdrop of white walls, concrete flooring and marble countertops allow the savory merchandise to take center stage.

A modular retail environment will allow the store to expand nationally with a consistent look.
