Allbirds (San Francisco) last week laid off 23 employees, representing 8% of its corporate workforce, Retail Dive reports.

The cuts, according to a brand spokesperson, followed an evaluation of each department in which the company “looked for ways to streamline workflows, reduce duplicative efforts, and put past learnings and operational insights into practice.”

Allbirds, which has yet to record a profit, has struggled to live up to its “disruption” promise, the article says. To reverse its fortune, the brand is looking to brick and mortar and partnerships with other retailers.
