E-commerce behemoth Amazon (Seattle) will open its first hair salon in East London, according to CNBC. The Amazon Salon will occupy two floors of a 1500-square-foot building in the Spitalfields area, a trendy neighborhood known for its dining and shopping options.

“We have designed this salon for customers to come and experience some of the best technology, hair care products and stylists in the industry,” said John Boumphrey, U.K. Country Manager, Amazon, in a statement. “We want this unique venue to bring us one step closer to customers, and it will be a place where we can collaborate with the industry and test new technologies.”

The salon, just blocks from Amazon’s U.K. headquarters, will initially be open to Amazon employees only but will eventually be open to the public by appointment. Amazon will reportedly use the new venture to test technologies like augmented reality and “point and learn” technology.
