Another Chair for Talbots

Arnold Zetcher to head NRF's board

Talbots chairman, president and ceo Arnold Zetcher, has been elected to a two-year term as National Retail Federation (NRF) chairman of the board. Zetcher replaces Gordon Segal, ceo of Crate & Barrel, who has served as the board's chairman since 2002.

Zetcher's election was announced during NRF's 93rd Annual Convention and Expo in New York.

Zetcher joined Talbots as president in 1987 and assumed the title of ceo in 1988 and chairman in 2000. He also serves as chairman of Talbots board of directors and oversees all aspects of the company's operations.

Also elected to the NRF board were: David Dworkin, president, Swoozie's LLC; Mary Forte, president and ceo, Zale Corp.; Phil Kowalczyk, managing director, consumer products division, Kurt Salmon Associates; Richard Last, senior vp, JCP eCommerce L.P.; Walter Loeb, president, Loeb Associates; Chris McCormick, president and ceo, L.L. Bean Inc.; Elaine Rubin, svp, strategy and business development, 1-800-FLOWERS.com; and Nicholas Zuk, assistant secretary and general counsel, White Castle Systems Inc.

NRF is the world's largest retail trade association, with membership that comprises all retail formats and channels of distribution including department, specialty, discount, catalog, Internet and independent stores as well as the industry's key trading partners of retail goods and services.
