CallisonRTKL, the world’s leading retail architecture and design practice, announces that Anthony Perez AIA, LEED AP has joined the firm as a vice president in the Seattle office. In a career of over two decades, Perez has emerged as a creative luminary in experiential environments, known for creating places that heighten commercial performance through a blend of high-touch technology with a consumer-centric sensibility.

“There’s no doubt that a new retail equation is emerging,” says Kelly Farrell, CRTKL’s CEO. “Anthony is the type of talent that disrupts the status quo and breathes new vigor into a challenging industry. We expect him to shake things up and join us in pointing the way to the future of retail. We couldn’t be more pleased to have him on board.”

Perez has played several roles in his career but each has been characterized by creativity, energy and a passion for helping his clients—some of the world’s top retailers—foster deeper relationships with their customers, build better brands and find new ways of solving the challenges of a fluid industry.

“CallisonRTKL has always been a giant of retail design,” says Perez. “And they have never shied away from taking on the huge challenges of the industry or dealing with the small, nagging details that define a higher level of quality. The industry is ripe for new ideas, new alliances and a new language. There has never been a better time to be in this business, and I can’t wait to be a part of the energy in CRTKL’s design studios.”

Mr. Perez is a frequent speaker on retail design, consumer experience and brand. He and his work have been recognized by numerous awards and accolades, including being named among Fast Company magazine’s 100 Creative People in Business.

Perez has held a number of creative leading roles in his career, working for design practices such as FITCH (Columbus, OH) and Harbor Retail (Seattle, WA), as well as five years with Starbucks Coffee, where he was instrumental in the design of new store prototypes, the exploration of alternative formats and new concepts, and work with allied brands Evolution Fresh and Teavana.
