Apple (Cupertino, Calif.) has opened a new location – Apple Brompton Road – in London, July 28. Drawing design inspiration from the “local flora,” the store begins with 7-meter floor-to-ceiling windows at the entrance, lined by 12 large Sicilian Ficus trees, which include seating at the base of each planter.

The central arcade mirrors the original Brompton Arcade that was built on the same location in 1903. Powered by 100-percent renewable energy, the store also includes a terrazzo flooring made from plant-based bio polymers, and an eye-catching curved timber ceiling.

Upon launch, the store will host “United Visions,” an AR experience made using Apple’s technology and curated by the Getty Museum. In an ongoing Brompton Series, held the last Thursday of each month through October, the store will host music workshops and other informative lectures.

Deidre O’Brien, Apple’s Senior VP of Retail + People, says, “We are thrilled to open Apple Brompton Road in London, a city teeming with energy, history and cultural diversity … The store’s focus on creativity gives our incredible team members the perfect space to share their passion and expertise with Londoners and visitors from around the world.”
