Bed Bath and Beyond Posts Third Quarter Losses

Net sales down 9 percent over same quarter 2018

Bed Bath and Beyond (Union, N.J.) reported financial results for the third quarter of 2019, posting a decline in net sales of $2.8 billion, a 9 percent decrease from the same quarter in 2018, according to a press release. Comparable sales in the third quarter of 2019 were down 8.3 percent.

“Our performance in the third quarter was unsatisfactory and underscores the imperative for change and strengthens our sense of priorities and purpose.  We must respond to the challenges we face as a business, including pressured sales and profitability, and reconstruct a modern, durable model for long-term profitable growth,” said President and CEO Mark J. Tritton.
