Electronics retailer Best Buy (Richfield, Minn.) has unveiled a 70,000 square-foot studio complex designed to help it and its partners create custom content that showcases how technology can benefit its customers’ lives, the company said in an announcement posted on its website.

Dubbed Best Buy Studios, the complex includes sound stages, edit and audio suites, a fabrication shop, a food stylist prep room, a prop warehouse and other content-creation amenities. It is expected to more than double the number of videos the retailer can produce.

“When we looked deeper at how we’re showing up for our customers, we also learned more around what inspires and engages them in the most meaningful ways,” said Molly Kinsella, SVP, Media and Creative. “Our customers want to feel the magic and wonder that technology can bring to their lives and Best Buy Studios allows us to be nimble and create custom content, in real-time, that we can leverage across multiple channels faster and better than ever.”

The company has already put the new complex to work: Most recently, as it geared up for the holiday season, the retailer launched a Gift Ideas experience, which includes content created in the studio complex that “will help customers find the perfect holiday gifts for everyone on their lists,” the company noted.
