Beyond the Closet: The Container Store Brings “Custom Spaces” to Locations

The Container Store (Coppell, Texas) is pushing beyond creating custom closets to other parts of the home. As a result, the in-store area known as The Container Store Custom Closets is being reconfigured and rebranded as The Container Store Custom Spaces in all of the chain’s 95 stores.

The idea, the retailer says in a news release, is to “make it clear to customers The Container Store can transform more than just closets through its custom and wholly owned product lines and continue to deliver on its promise to transform lives through the power of organization.”

The in-store Container Store Custom Spaces consist of three areas: closet, living and garage. Incorporated into those zones are vibrant colors, bolder and clearer informational graphics, new propping and graphics highlighting real in-home spaces.

The refresh to the new look is slated for completion chainwide by the end of November.

“The Container Store Custom Spaces is simple, easy to understand, and focuses more on the way consumers think,” said Melissa Collins, Chief Marketing Officer of The Container Store.
