Discount retailer Big Lots is opening two buying offices in Asia – one in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, the other in Shanghai – according to a press release from the retailer.

The new offices will source products, secure closeout deals and ensure extreme bargains – all of which is meant to enhance the retailer’s competitiveness against other companies, according to Big Lots.

“Global sourcing is key to our ability to add newness and expanded assortment at extreme value prices for our shoppers,” Big Lots CEO Bruce Thorn said in the press release. “Today’s announcement positions us for even greater success in a changing global marketplace as we create more extreme bargains and everyday great values for our customers.”
