He first joined Macy’s East in 1983 as senior visual manager and went on, over the next 14 years, to serve as regional coordinator and vp of store design.

In 1997, he was appointed senior vp, creative services, for Cherry and Webb (South Attleboro, Mass.). He went on to serve as director of design and planning for the Expo Design Center division of The Home Depot (Atlanta) and returned to Macy’s East in 2001.

At Saks, he will report to Terron Schaefer, senior vp, marketing. “William enhances our already strong team with his global visual merchandising experience, bringing a proven record in implementing exciting new store concepts,” said Schaefer. “His enormous creativity and interest in fashion and the arts will enhance the modern energy in our stores.”
