Luxury department store retailer Bloomingdale's (New York) has confirmed its scouting locations in Florida – but not necessarily for a mainline store in a traditional mall, reports The Tampa Tribune. Rather, company officials say they’re looking to open a series of new, smaller Bloomingdale Outlet stores in the state.

“Whether Tampa, or Orlando, certainly Florida is one of the best states for outlet shopping,” Arnie Orlick, senior vp, outlet stores for Bloomingdale's, the sister company of Macy's, told The Tribune.

Bloomingdale's recently opened two outlet locations in Florida, one at the Dolphin Mall in Miami and another at the Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise. Another is set to open in Miromar Outlets south of Fort Myers this autumn.
