Bloomingdale's gets a new leader

Federated Department Store named Edwin Holman, 53, president and coo of its Bloomingdale's division.

Holman, who has served this past year as president and coo of Federated's Rich's/Lazarus/Goldsmith's division, succeeds Jeffrey Sherman, who vacated the position to become chair and ceo of Federated Direct, the company's direct-to-customer division.

According to Federated, Holman is “partnered” with Michael Gould, who has been Bloomingdale's chair and ceo since 1991.

Federated expects to name Rich's/Lazarus/Goldsmith's new president and coo in the near future.
