Bojangles (Charlotte, N.C.) has announced Byron Chandler, a former McDonald’s (Chicago) executive of nearly 20 years, as its new Chief Development Officer.

Chandler will be responsible for the company’s design teams, strategy, real estate and construction, according to a press release. He will begin his new role June 7.

Additionally, the company has named Joe Costa as its new Chief Growth Officer, who has led franchise development at the restaurant chain for the past two years.

Jose Armario, Bojangles’ CEO, says, “There is nothing more important in our goal of becoming a Southern Powerhouse than securing experienced, high-quality franchisees to grow our brand … Jose has done a great job in this area, and we look forward to continuing this momentum of strategic growth as he works closely with Byron.”

Chandler and Coast will both report to Armario in their new roles.
