Luxury brand Chanel (London) has opened its first “twin” boutique in Milan, combining fashion with fine jewelry and watches, Fashionotography reports. Designed by Peter Marino, the 5600-square-foot, two-level store is at the intersection of Via Montenapoleone and Via Verri.

The store bears the brand’s black-and-white color scheme, reinterpreted with Marino’s artistic flair. The boutique features custom-designed elements, including unique upholstery, tweeds in soothing ivory and sand tones, hand-finished surfaces and plush wool carpets.

The store’s décor also includes several notable design objects and antiques, including Zen crystal and ebony table lamps by Goossens, a 1970s fossil-inlaid coffee table by Etienne Allemeersch, Augusto Bozzi chairs and a custom etched-stone table.

A more private shopping experience is available in a separate salon with its entrance on Via Verri. The fitting room in this area is home to George Noël’s abstract artwork “Palimpseste” (1985) and various unique design objects by Marino, according to Fashionotograpy.

The retailer’s existing flagship store in Milan, on Via Sant’Andrea, will continue to operate.

There’s at least one other Chanel locale bearing the twin designation: its store in the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai, which opened in April, per published reports.
