The latest winner will be unveiled by early January and celebrated with a soiree at the Ralph Pucci Showroom in New York during the same week as the National Retail Federation’s “Big Show.” Launched in 1997 and named in honor of the late Andrew Markopoulos (Senior VP of Visual Merchandising and Store Design for the department store division of Dayton-Hudson), the Markopoulos Award recognizes designers and retailers who have left an indelible mark on our industry. Nominated and selected through The Markopoulos Circle, winners are selected based on their overall career accomplishments and lifetime achievements; their contributions to a company or retailer; their ongoing contributions and support of the visual merchandising and retail design industries; their ability to innovate and inspire; and their ability to nurture and mentor young talent in the industry.
