Costco Co-Founder to Step Down

Jim Sinegal will leave post in January 2012

Costco Wholesale Corp. ceo Jim Sinegal, who has been a director since the company was formed, is leaving the Issaquah, Wash.-based warehouse club retailer at the beginning on next year. He will be replaced by president and chief operating officer Craig Jelinek.

Sinegal will remain with the retailer through January 2013 to help Jelinek during the transition. He will also continue to serve on Costco's board and stand for reelection at the January 2012 annual meeting.
