Cotopaxi Opens First East Coast Store

BOSTON, Ma. (September 4, 2024) — Cotopaxi, B Corp adventure brand known for its bold color ways and sustainable design and manufacturing, is thrilled to announce its newest store location in Boston. This latest expansion marks the brands first foray into a physical presence for the east coast market, and a huge opportunity to cater to a new crowd of adventure seekers.

“Boston is an active, outdoor market that we’re excited to now be a part of,” explains Brad Hiranaga, Chief Brand Officer at Cotopaxi. “Boston is a gateway to some unique recreational opportunities in the northeast, and with 64 colleges and universities in the Boston area, this market provides a great opportunity for us to connect with the next generation of outdoor enthusiasts.”

Located in the heart of Newbury Street, Cotopaxi’s new store was originally a 19-century schoolhouse prior to retail. “Our focus was to keep the existing floor layout and finishes, maintaining an open concept,” said Matt Kempf, lead architect from BRR Architecture. “Our team enjoyed working with Cotopaxi to incorporate their branding throughout the store design while maintaining the unique characteristics of the building and neighborhood.”

Cotopaxi Boston is hosting giveaways, special promotions and activities for community members, Thursday, September 5th through Sunday, September 8th. The first 50 customers on Saturday, September 7th and Sunday, September 8th will receive a free limited edition Bataan Hip Pack. Any visitors who buy a pack during the weekend will receive a free limited edition patch, which can be affixed to their pack in-store. Additionally, visitors to the new store will be able to meet Cotopaxi’s local Boston impact partner, OneGoal, who will be onsite throughout the course of the grand opening weekend events.
