Edith Morré

Palm Desert, CA

The new Edith Morré store in Palm Desert, Calif., continues a tradition that started in 1957. Back then, Edith Morrey brought the first elegant boutique to El Paseo and named it Edith Morré. Today, the store caters its high-end clothing, jewelry and accessories to women in their 30s and 40s, as well as women who retire and settle in the area.

The new 6200-square-foot shop, designed by Gerald Celaya Interior Design and Steven Cheroske Designs (both of Palm Desert, Calif.), features a dramatic lighting scheme and a neutral palette. The store's centerpiece is an aquarium integrated into a display wall. Comfortable seating nearby allows customers to relax and enjoy the shopping experience.

Jewelry and other accessories are displayed in square, glass-enclosed displays trimmed in black. Glass shelving also appears periodically throughout the store as elegant backdrops to the high-end merchandise.

Design: Gerald Celaya Interior Design, Palm Desert, Calif., and Steven Cheroske Designs, Palm Springs, Calif.
