Burger brand Five Guys (Alexandria, Va.) is teaming with developer Shamal Holding (Dubai, U.A.E.) to open its first airport branch outside the U.S., at Terminal 3-Concourse B in Dubai International (DXB). Set to open at an as-yet-undisclosed date in June, the emirate’s latest Five Guys branch will have 6200 square feet.

“We are excited to announce the location of our 15th Five Guys branch in the UAE at Dubai International,” says Sudhin Siva, Shamal Holding’s Senior EVP-Asset Management. “This expansion marks a significant milestone for Five Guys in the UAE, welcoming travelers from around the world to enjoy an iconic Five Guys meal during their time at the airport. This branch is our largest yet and offers exclusive experiences to customers in Terminal 3. Recently having opened branches in Al Hamra Mall in Ras Al Khaimah and Yas Mall Abu Dhabi, we continue looking forward to bringing Five Guys to every community.”

Five Guys’ offerings at the airport locale will include made-to-order 100 percent halal beef burgers, milkshakes, grilled cheese sandwiches, hotdogs and hand-cut fries.

Last year, DXB welcomed 87 million travelers and is forecast to reach 91 million in 2024. Those numbers make DXB the top-ranked airport by international passenger numbers for 2023, the Airports Council International reports.

Five Guys is a family-owned and -operated franchise restaurant group that focuses on serving high-quality burgers and fries in a clean, no-frills atmosphere. Launched in 1986, the brand now has about 1800 locations worldwide. It’s U.S.-based airport restaurants include locales in Chicago (O’Hare and Midway) Denver, Los Angeles, New York (JFK), Miami and Washington, D.C.
