Bedford Jewelers in Bedford, MA, closed as its owner retired, but now it’s making a comeback under a different name.

Kyle Cormier is the new owner of the store, which recently reopened as Cormier Fine Jewelry, the Bedford Citizen reported.

Cormier, 26, has taken over the business from his grandmother Shirley O’Connor. He’d been a full-time employee of the business for nearly five years.

In October, the store held a going-out-of-business sale and Cormier began to see continuing the business as a viable option.

“We were absolutely floored by the turnout,” he told the Citizen.

He renewed the lease and spent the several weeks remodeling. Black Friday marked the store’s first day back in business.

The store was founded in 1954 by Cormier’s great-grandparents, Althea and Arthur Bishop.
