Panolam Industries Intl. Inc. (Shelton, Conn., laminates manufacturer) has added Liberty Hardwoods Inc. (Kansas City, Mo.) as a distributor for its Panolam ThermoFused Melamine (TFM) brand. Liberty will represent the brand in eastern Nebraska and Iowa.

Arlon (Santa Ana, Calif., vinyl film manufacturer) has launched a web site for its graphics products division at www.arlon.com. The site offers product and technical information.

Martin Professional Scandinavia A/S (Copenhagen, Denmark, distributor of Martin Professional, Eurotruss and Euro-Lift products) has opened an office in Gothenburg, Sweden.

GTI Graphic Technology Ind. (Newburgh, N.Y., color evaluation and color matching equipment supplier) has appointed C.L. McGuire Co. (Louisville, Ky.) as its sales representative in Ohio, Kentucky and northern Tennessee, and California Technical Sales (Corona Del Mar, Calif.) as its sales representative for California and Nevada.

Mainstreet Menu Systems (Brookfield, Wis., indoor and outdoor menu systems manufacturer) has added KeyImpact Sales Systems Inc. (Columbia, Md.) as its representative in Delaware, Washington, D.C., Maryland, southern New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania and Virginia.

Awards & Competitions:


Shea (Minneapolis design firm) received awards at Graphic Design USA's American Graphic Design Awards for the following projects: Shea's 2002 holiday card; CSM Corp.: Depot Office Center logo; Hunt Associates ID system; Dixie's logo; Marketplace Cafe graphics; and Block E graphics.

Shea also was named a 2003 Design Giant by Interior Design magazine.

The Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) awarded international illumination design awards for two projects utilizing Color Kinetics' (Boston) intelligent LED illumination technology. SmithGroup was awarded the IESNA's Edwin Guth Memorial Award for its interior lighting design of the passenger tunnel at the McNamara Terminal/Northwest WorldGateway at Detroit Metro Airport; and Stone Mountain Lighting Group received the Paul Waterbury Award of Excellence for its outdoor lighting of the bay tower expansion at Harrah's Atlantic City Resort & Casino.
