Management Changes:

Davaco Inc. (Dallas retail services and solutions provider) has appointed Gregg Morrison as director of sales. Morrison is responsible for all sales and support functions in the Midwest, as well as assisting in the company's overall strategic development.

Rayven Inc. (St. Paul, Minn., custom coating, laminating and converting services manufacturer and supplier) has hired Charlie Baumann and Tom Literski as national sales representatives. Baumann is responsible for the southern and southeastern states and Literski is responsible for the midwestern and northeastern states.

The National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL, Paramus, N.J., not-for-profit trade association) has added Howard Fenton as senior consultant, digital technologies. Fenton has previously served as senior consultant of digital technology for the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation and editor of Pre, a magazine covering the prepress industry.

Catalina Lighting Inc. (Miami designer, lighting products manufacturer and distributor) has appointed Stephen Marble as cfo. Marble was previously the company's controller.

Business Briefs:

Domco Tarkett Commercial (Houston hardwood flooring manufacturer and distributor) and the American Institute of Architects have teamed up to provide “Resilient Flooring Design Options,” a continuing education course. Graj+Gustavsen (New York branding firm) has completed a brand development project for carter's (New York children's apparel manufacturer and retailer). The firm helped carter's expand its business from a baby company to a “0-6” company with a new image, which is based on “celebrating the child,” and a new store format based on European pre-schools and wooden building toys with interactive features.

Kiosk Information Systems (Louisville kiosk and information station designer and manufacturer) has announced a contract with Rembrandt Charms (Buffalo, N.Y., jewelry manufacturer) to produce 11 KT-110 Stealth kiosks. Titled “Charm Kiosks,” the units will be placed in 11 jewelry stores nationwide and will allow customers to view more than 2000 Rembrandt charm styles.

The Paradies Shops (Atlanta airport news operations provider) has introduced two Paradies CNBC shops at Pittsburgh International Airport's Airmall. Paradies, which operates 300 stores in 57 airports, is rolling out the branded news stores in airports across the U.S. and Canada. The stands feature traditional newsstand items in addition to market and business news delivered on television monitors. CNBC books, videos and merchandise are also available.

Transformit (Gorham, Maine, tension-fabric structure design, manufacturing and rental company) has completed the installation of a featured product area at FAO Schwarz's flagship on Fifth Avenue in New York. The display features white stretch nylon over an aluminum frame that will be used as a giant projection screen. Different themes or products will be projected on the screen to merchandise Hasbro products.

Calori & Vanden-Eynden (C&VE, New York design consultants) principals Chris Calori and David Vanden-Eynden recently returned from a two-week trip to China, where they presented the signage and wayfinding component of a conceptual master plan for a riverfront revitalization project for the city of Tianjin. C&VE is a member of an international multidisciplinary team working on creating a waterfront master plan for Tianjin, a maritime city southeast of Beijing.

The Craft Retailers Association for Tomorrow (CRAFT, Philadelphia non-profit trade association) announces it has been incorporated as a trade association for licensed storefront retailers of American craft art. CRAFT membership is open to art galleries, craft galleries, boutiques, gift shops, interior design studios and other retail stores with inventory of at least 50 percent American-made craft.
