A trio of supermarket chains have announced the following growth plans:

The Fresh Market is opening stores in three states. The new locales, in Wethersfield, Conn., Jensen Beach, Fla., and Mount Pleasant, S.C., give the regional grocer a total of 172 outlets. Overall, The Fresh Market has opened 12 new storefronts over the last six months.

T&T Supermarket (Richmond, B.C.) plans a store in Irvine, Calif., by winter 2026. That marks the Canadian chain’s fifth planned store in the U.S. (The others are in San Francisco, San Jose, Calif., and Bellevue and Lynnwood, Wash.) A unit of Loblaw Cos. Ltd., T&T’s Canadian fleet consists of 38 stores.

Whole Foods (Austin, Texas) will take the wraps off two more smaller-format Market Daily Shops in New York. The first location, a 10,000-square-foot store at 409 E. 14th St. in the East Village’s StuyTown development, will open May 14, while the second, an 8500-square-foot store located at 301 W. 50th St, in Hell’s Kitchen, will debut June 4. (The city’s first Daily Shop opened last September in the Lenox Hill neighborhood on the Upper East Side.) Whole Foods, which operates 520-plus markets under its main brand, became a unit of Amazon Inc. in 2017.
