STORE OPENINGS

Hermès Intl.-backed Chinese luxury brand Shang Xia will open its first overseas store in Paris at the end of 2012, reports Women’s Wear Daily. The 860-square-foot store will open on Rue de Sèvres. Shang Xia launched in 2010 with a store in Shanghai.

Dunkin' Donuts (Canton, Mass.) has signed a multi-unit store development agreement with a newly formed subsidiary of Sizzling Platter LLC – Sizzling Donuts, LLC – for 11 new restaurants in Denver and eight new restaurants in El Paso, Texas. The company also acquired two additional existing restaurants in El Paso. Sizzling Platter operates restaurants in seven states, including Little Caesars, Sizzler, Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Ruby River Steakhouse and Hoppers Grill & Brew Pub brand names.

CBX creative agency (New York) took home a first place award for its Duane Reade flagship at 40 Wall Street in New York, during the Retail Design Institute’s 41st annual international design competition.

Home furnishings retailer IKEA added four Blink Level 2 electric vehicle charging stations at its East Palo Alto, Calif., store as part of its partnership with ECOtality, Inc. The initiative is the eighth such project for IKEA in the U.S.

Retail design and fixture company RED3 (San Diego) introduced a new website at www.red3display.com that combines display fixtures with information on lighting, flooring, ceiling treatments, visual merchandising and graphics.
