HIRINGS AND RETIREMENTS

Stein Mart Inc. (Jacksonville, Fla.), an off-price apparel retailer, announced that cfo James G. Delfs is retiring, but will remain with the company to assist in the search for his successor.

Triad Mfg. Inc. (St. Louis), a manufacturer of custom retail fixtures, has hired Don Slaamot as a senior account executive based in Colorado.

STORE OPENINGS

La Perla (Bologna, Italy), a retailer of luxury intimate apparel, swimwear and pret a porter, has opened its first pop-up shop in North America, in East Hampton, N.Y.

Walmart Stores Inc. (Bentonville, Ark.) will open a 41,000-square-foot Walmart Neighborhood Market in July at the Barclay Square shopping center in Largo, Fla.

Disneyland Resort (Anaheim, Calif.) announced the first-ever permanent retail location of the lifestyle brand LittleMissMatched will open this summer in the theme park’s Downtown Disney district.

Nordstrom Inc. (Seattle) announced it will open a 40,000-square-foot Nordstrom Rack off-price store at the Shoppers World complex in Framingham, Mass., in spring 2010.

MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS

Milestone AV Technologies (Savage, Minn.), a designer and manufacturer of audiovisual mounting equipment, has acquired the assets of Raxxess Metalsmiths Inc. (Paterson, N.J.), a supplier of rack-mount solutions, furniture and related accessories.

BUSINESS BRIEFS

Boston Retail (Medford, Mass.), a manufacturer of display, power and protection products for retailers, announced it has been elevated to Four-Star status within The Green Organisation, a U.K. environmental group.

Gemini Inc. (Cannon Falls, Minn.), a producer of dimensional letters, logos and plaques, has added a 2100-square-foot anodizing room at its western U.S. plant in Fallon, Nev.

Peerless Industries Inc. (Melrose Park, Ill.), a provider of professional-grade audio/visual solutions, has entered an exclusive distribution agreement with AM Denmark (Kokkedal, Denmark), a manufacturer of audiovisual, notebook and peripheral cleaning products.
