Here Are the 10 Highest-Paid Fashion Executives from 2020

Including stock and option awards, all made at least $12 million.

Ernie Herrman, CEO of T.J. Maxx’s parent company, took a pay cut of nearly 25 percent but still raked in more than $14 million.

As CEOs of America’s largest fashion concerns looked for ways to steer their companies through the pandemic, several took pay cuts to help offset the loss of sales revenue.

Still, the 10 highest-paid fashion executives all eclipsed $12 million in total compensation – factoring in annual salary, stock and option awards, and incentive pay – during 2020.

WWD combed through SEC filings to compile a list of the fashion segment’s top earners. Here are the top 10, with total 2020 compensation and percent up or down from the previous year listed in parentheses:

  1. Doug McMillon, CEO, Walmart ($22.6 million, up 2.1 percent)
  2. Sonia Syngal, CEO, Gap Inc. ($21.9 million, up 360 percent)
  3. Brian Cornell, CEO, Target ($19.8 million, up 4.3 percent)
  4. Andrew Meslow, CEO, L Brands Inc. ($18.5 million)
  5. Ralph Lauren, Executive Chairman, Ralph Lauren Corp. ($17.1 million, up 31.4 percent)
  6. Manny Chirico, former CEO, PVH Corp. ($16.4 million, down 6 percent)
  7. Steve Rendle, CEO, VF Corp. ($15.8 million, down 4.9 percent)
  8. Ernie Herrman, CEO, TJX Cos. Inc. ($14.5 million, down 23.8 percent)
  9. Michelle Gass, CEO, Kohl’s Corp. ($12.9 million)
  10. Patrice Louvet, CEO, Ralph Lauren Corp. ($12.1 million, down 0.9 percent)
