L.L.Bean (Freeport, Maine), best known for its catalog business, will triple its number of brick-and-mortar stores to 100 over the next five years, according to The Boston Globe.

According to a company spokesperson, the expansion will give the company, known for its best-selling rubber boots, outdoor gear and casual clothing, more visibility, especially outside New England.

The new stores will measure 15,000 to 20,000 square feet. L.L.Bean currently operates 26 full retail stores and 10 outlets in 12 states. New stores will open in new and existing spaces and extend beyond the company’s current western border of Colorado.
