IN INTERNET SPEAK, the popular comeback “go touch grass” – meaning get offline, go outside and reconnect with nature – seems to have resonated with the materials and wallcoverings, flooring, signage/graphics and surfaces crowds. This year, everything from flooring to fabric to fabricated metal paneling is rooted in the natural world, whether it’s patterns inspired by the sea, designs that evoke cloud formations and weathered wood or creations influenced by the delicate symmetry of an old-world European garden.
