Big Lots vice chairman resigns

Big Lots Inc. (Columbus, Ohio) announced the resignation of Albert Bell as vice chairman, chief administrative officer, and director of the company, effective August 17, 2004.

The nation’s largest closeout retailer said Bell is leaving the company “to pursue other career interests.”

“Al has made important contributions to the company during his 18 years of service and we wish him success in his personal and professional pursuits,” said chairman and ceo Michael Potter.
