Reinforcing its position as the leading retailer in South Korea, Lotte Department Store opened a 12-level, 750,000-square-foot, full-line store in Daegu, one of the country's fastest-growing cities.

Far more elegant than previous Lotte stores, the crisp interiors create a fresh, contemporary backdrop for the retailer's extensive merchandise collection. Designed as a destination for a full day of shopping, the store includes a youth zone, international fresh food market and food court, restaurants, spa and movie theaters.

An overall unifying design concept allows the flexibility to meet the store's diverse customer profile while maintaining the consistency of the Lotte brand.

The “Lotte Jewel Box” concept enables the design style to flow and adjust freely from floor to floor while reintroducing and repeating common themes.

Built over a subway station, the store's architectural design includes a pedestrian plaza surrounding the store; a five-level attached garage; and two levels of direct access to subway transportation.
