Lowe's Vows to Save the Trees

Lowe's Companies (Wilkesboro, N.C.) has implemented a lumber and wood-product purchase policy aimed at preserving the world's forests while not compromising on the quality it delivers.

Under the policy, Lowe's will: phase out the purchase of products from endangered forests; work with suppliers to maintain natural forests; give preference to products from certifiably well-managed forests; promote wood re-use, recycling and advanced framing techniques among its customers; increase the procurement of quality recycled, engineered and alternative products such as tree-free paper products for printing and packaging.
