Lululemon (Vancouver, B.C.) has unveiled plans to expand its presence in Mexico by opening eight more stores and launching a dedicated e-commerce channel there. That builds on the fitness apparel chain’s current 20-plus stores in Mexico, it said in a news release.
“Across our North America business, we are continuing to strategically invest in the growth and evolution of our omnichannel guest experience through a combination of new and elevated stores and enhanced digital capabilities,” said Carla Anderson, the brand’s SVP and General Manager, North America. “The launch of lululemon.mx, alongside our planned store expansion in Mexico, highlights an exciting next chapter in our North America growth journey. The momentum we are driving in Mexico reflects the strength and relevance of our brand within the community and signals the continued opportunity ahead as we build connected, engaging and consistent experiences for our guests.”
Overall, lululemon said it plans to open about 15 stores across North America during its current fiscal year, including the previously mentioned eight in Mexico. The retailer’s total store fleet is just under 800 units, including about 480 in the U.S.
