Lululemon (Vancouver, Canada) has launched Like New, a “re-commerce” initiative designed to extend the life of its products, according to a press release. The trade-in program will begin testing as a pilot in California and Texas next month and will expand to resale in June.

“Lululemon is actively working to help create a healthier future, and we are focused on meeting the goals detailed in our Impact Agenda, including making 100 percent of our products with sustainable materials and end-of-use solutions by 2030,” said  CEO Calvin McDonald.

In May, shoppers in California and Texas can trade in gently used Lululemon apparel at one of its 80 participating stores or by mail. In return they will receive a Lululemon gift card. In June, the resale program will begin, with 100 percent of profits reinvested into new sustainability intiaitives.
