Saks Inc. (Birmingham, Ala.) has announced that Terron Schaefer will join Saks Fifth Avenue as senior vp of marketing.

With the recent resignation of Sheri Wilson-Gray, Saks Fifth Avenue's executive vp of marketing, the marketing organization has been restructured. In the newly created position of senior vp of marketing, Schaefer will be responsible for marketing, public relations, fashion merchandising, creative brand management, catalog operations and visual merchandising.

Schaefer will report to Andrew Jennings, who was recently named president and chief merchandising officer of Saks Fifth Avenue.

Prior to joining Saks, Schaefer was senior vp of marketing — worldwide retail for Warner Bros., with responsibility for international marketing and brand development. His retail marketing experience includes leadership positions at Macy's West, Galerias Preciados, Harrod's, Bloomingdale's and William Filene and Son.

“I am very pleased to welcome Terry to the Saks Fifth Avenue organization,” says Fred Wilson, chairman and ceo of Saks Fifth Avenue Enterprises. “His international marketing experience and flair for unique product development and creative problem solving will contribute significantly to the evolution of the Saks Fifth Avenue brand.”

Saks Inc. operates Saks Fifth Avenue Enterprises, which consists of 62 Saks Fifth Avenue stores and 53 Saks Off 5th stores. The company also operates Saks Department Store Group with 243 department stores under the names of Parisian, Proffitt's, McRae's, Younkers, Herberger's, Carson Pirie Scott, Bergner's and Boston Store and 19 Club Libby Lu specialty stores.
