Marshall Field's

2005 Holiday Window, Chicago

Chicagoans may have been feeling a touch of melancholy during the holiday season, since it marked the last time the holidays would be celebrated on State Street under the Marshall Field's banner. But that didn't stop the retailer from pulling out all the stops with 11 whimsical vignettes telling the story of Cinderella and her prince.

Twenty-five artisans worked to recreate the story, complete with hand-sculpted figurines and costumes. In partnership with Swarovski, Cinderella's glass slipper and wedding gown were bejeweled in thousands of crystals.
