McDonald’s to Close Some Walmart Locations

McDonald’s (Chicago) is planning to close hundreds of restaurants inside of mass merchant Walmart (Bentonville, Ark.), reports CNBC. About 150 McDonald’s locations within Walmart will remain after the closures.

Many Walmart shoppers now reportedly buy their groceries online. Walmart’s e-commerce sales in the U.S. grew by 79 percent in the most recent fiscal year. The company plans to convert former McDonald’s in-store locations into other services or restaurant offerings.
